I help children, teenagers and adults. In session, I introduce tools from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and guided meditation to help others change their inner dialogue and core beliefs. Many of our greatest gifts of being are found through an opening process where we expand our awareness and I encourage others, in the flow of our exchanges, to develop a new relationship of unconditional love with themselves through a lifestyle of daily self-nurturing.
In seeking healing, I am greatly inspired by trauma informed care, which is a model of intervention that combines social learning theory and trauma theory so that individuals with traumatic injury understand their reactions are adaptations that helped them to survive but are no longer working for them.
This perspective asks "What has happened to you?" instead of "What is wrong with you?" It moves away from the medical model of seeing others as ill and instead views people as impacted by trauma; and it approaches healing as integrating new patterns of transcendence, so that people no longer reenact the trauma of the original injury but, by the power of intention, make new conscious choices that lead to freedom.
As a skilled and gentle companion, I also encourage those who would like to integrate the dimensions of the psychological and the spiritual. I believe the solutions to perplexing problems, the unexpected strength to rise to a difficult occasion or the clarity of the next phase of your life can happen through this wholeness. Whether seeking career guidance, self improvement, or peace after grief and loss, the possibilities are many when we rediscover our gift of the true Self.
My goal is to walk alongside you, to assist in finding the gift of Self that has been hiding in the darkness, unwrapping amidst the changes, and trying to transform into an integrated Me that is whole.
