Biography | Adam Haglund, LCSW
Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued for who they truly are. Through compassionate listening, I can help you gain insight into your unique strengths and qualities, empowering you to embrace your individuality and find your place in the world. In a safe and non-judgmental space, together we can explore experiences, beliefs, and social dynamics to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. Difficult thoughts, feelings, and patterns - particularly those connected with depression or overwhelming personal histories and relationships - can be safely considered; limiting beliefs, challenged; and inner resources unlocked to build authentic connections, resilience, personal growth and fulfillment.
Compassion focused therapy recognizes that individuals often struggle with self-criticism, shame, and self-judgment, which can contribute to emotional difficulties and hinder personal growth. CFT aims to address these challenges by fostering self-compassion and developing a kind and caring attitude towards oneself. This involves cultivating self-compassion, self-soothing, and self-care skills, as well as developing empathy and compassion for others. By fostering self-compassion and cultivating a compassionate mindset, individuals can enhance their emotional well-being and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. I also draw on various sources, including art, science, and sociology, to provide a holistic perspective. Diverse disciplines allow for a rich and comprehensive therapeutic experience that fully receives the multifaceted nature of human existence.
